Core Module
The NetQ Core module consists of many advanced functionality to assist customers with a typical network rollout, expansion, or upgrade project. Set of advanced modules in NetQ can help track the progress of network design, site acquisition, construction, telecom implementation, integration, and maintenance for each and every network element. The following sections describe each module in more detail:
NetQ™ Roadmap is a fully featured system configuration tool for project managers to quickly configure the system before project kickoff. This tool supports system configurations such as pre-planning, resourcing, project definition, milestone definitions and templates, project org. chart, GIS settings, and site import/export. This multi-project based system allows the project team to monitor and manage the progress of several simultaneous projects to support geographical or phased implementation strategies.
This module is used to plan and measure the progress of the work carried out on each network element in a project such as nominal or candidate site. In order to achieve a milestone, the set of related Tasks must be performed. The collection of related milestones is combined into a Milestone Template that is scheduled for different network elements. Milestones and tasks can be tracked at project, personnel, and network element levels.
It enables the creation and configuration of network elements (e.g. sites and transmission links) allowing users to define both nominal and actual network plans, and giving them the ability to compare one against the other. This module also supports the creation of multiple sites of different types such as BTS, BSC, MSC, Repeater or any user defined site type in a single location, and allows users to define equipment configuration and other parameters for sites and links. NetQ is capable of storing site profile information such as property details, owner(s), multimedia, maps, co-locations, site sharing, directions, evaluations, lease agreements, permits and much more..
The SARF (Search) module is defined to provide reports that introduce several Candidate Sites for each Nominal Site. NetQ can track one or more Searches issued for a Nominal Site. SARF is fully customizable and can be modified in Crystal Reports, Microsoft Word, or PDF to support the way you do business.
Equipment Configuration for network elements is derived from planned nominal site. NetQ allows you to easily create default equipment templates based on network element configurations which are tracked at site, cell, transmission and other detailed levels. NetQ is also capable of tracking the equipment lists installed on each network element which is fully integrated with the Asset Management and Trouble Ticketing modules.
The partner relationship management is an inherent functionality within NetQ from Pivotal CRM. It allows you to manage and track your relationships with a wide community of valued business partners, government agencies, vendors, and professionals in your industry with whom you do business.
NetQ is shipped with a complete CRM suite powered by Pivotal CRM that allows you to manage and track your sales, marketing, and customer service processes.
NetQ allows the operators to track the co-location and sharing of network sites at different levels such as property, equipment, and service agreement. Using the workflow automation manager in NetQ, you can easily plan, schedule, monitor and control sharing of milestones, tasks, and quality assurance of work activities.
NetQ provides a collaborative environment where all partners can access the centralized data for more effective resource planning and task sharing during a rollout project. Partners who have access to NetQ can:
- Search for and view available sites (towers, high rise buildings, etc.) for co-location/sharing owned by property owners or leased by other operators
- View complete site profile such as technical details, equipment, owner(s), lease terms, availability status, documentation, multimedia and more
- See the desired sites on an interactive map
- Place an order request (with internal approval process)
An activity is created by, or for, the user, or it may be automatically generated by the system based on an event such as creation of a service request or trouble ticket. If users wish to use Microsoft Outlook to manage their contacts, appointments, and tasks, they can synchronize this information with the NetQ activity module.
One of the most powerful features of NetQ is the event-driven E-messaging and notification, providing users with the most up-to-date information and ensuring their prompt action. The E-messaging (email/SMS) concept implemented by NetQ reduces conventional forms of information exchange among users and streamlines the decision-making process markedly. Workflow notification messages are automatically sent to different users and functional groups based on events such as completion of a milestone. NetQ records can also be sent as attachment and be invoked by the recipient to action on them.
NetQ Map is supported in both Web & Client/Server environments. The GIS engine of NetQ is supported by the embedded engines from MapInfo®. It is a combination of elements designed to store, retrieve, manipulate, and display geographic data. The GIS interface used in NetQ allows the user to quickly and easily view the network as a whole or in part before, during, and after its construction. NetQ allows the user to open existing or add new sites, links, properties, trouble tickets and other data simply by single mouse activation anywhere on the map. The quick and easy-to-use query builder in NetQ allows the user to easily plot network topology and generate thematic map layers, reports, and professional presentations.
