Core Module

The NetQ Core module consists of many advanced functionality to assist customers with a typical network rollout, expansion, or upgrade project. Set of advanced modules in NetQ can help track the progress of network design, site acquisition, construction, telecom implementation, integration, and maintenance for each and every network element. The following sections describe each module in more detail:

Project Management and Planning
NetQ™ offers a variety of configuration capabilities for project managers to quickly prepare the system before project kickoff. These configuration settings often include the definition of projects, milestone / task templates, resources, cost plans, workflow notifications, GIS settings, network related data import/export, and much more.  This multi-project based system allows the project team to monitor and manage the progress of several simultaneous projects to support geographical or phased implementation strategies.
Milestone and Task Tracking
This module is used to plan and measure the progress of the work carried out against a candidate site in a project . In order to achieve a milestone, the set of related Tasks must be performed. The collection of related milestones is combined into a Milestone Template that is scheduled for different candidate sites. Milestones and tasks can be tracked at project, personnel, and site levels based on plan and actual dates.
Network Site & Link Profile Management
The Site and Link Management functionality enables the creation and configuration of network elements (i.e. candidate sites and microwave links) allowing users to define both nominal and actual network plans, and giving them the ability to compare one against the other. NetQ also supports the creation of multiple sites of different categories such as BTS, BSC, MSC, and repeater in a single location, and allows users to define equipment configuration and other parameters for sites and microwave links. Users can also define and manage different network technologies and site types such as tower, rooftop, utility pole, water tanks, and more.
With NetQ you can manage candidate site and link profile information, location details, owner(s), co-locator(s) and store attachments such as multimedia, documents, maps, site plans, evaluations, lease agreements, zoning and permits without any space limitations. Users can quickly find project related information using keywords and advanced global search tools.
Site Acquisition Report Forms (SARF)
The SARF (Search) module is defined to provide reports that introduce several Candidate Sites for each Nominal Site. NetQ can track one or more Searches issued for a Nominal Site. SARF is fully customizable and can be modified in Crystal Reports, Microsoft Word, or PDF to support the way you do business.
Equipment Configuration
Equipment Configuration for network elements is derived from planned nominal site. NetQ allows you to easily create default equipment templates based on network element configurations which are tracked at site, cell, transmission and other detailed levels. NetQ is also capable of tracking the equipment lists installed on each network element which is fully integrated with the Asset Management and Trouble Ticketing modules.
Relationship Management
The partner relationship management is an inherent functionality within NetQ from Pivotal CRM. It allows you to manage and track your relationships with a wide community of valued business partners, government agencies, vendors, and professionals in your industry with whom you do business.
NetQ is shipped with a complete CRM suite powered by Pivotal CRM that allows you to manage and track your sales, marketing, and customer service processes.
Site Acquisition & Lease Management (Permitting, Zoning, Co-Location):
The real estate and lease management module in NetQ allows customers to keep track of various types of real estate properties they own or lease for network siting and co-location purposes. The lease management functionality allows customers to keep track of their lease contracts, renewals, forecasts, payments, as well as incoming and outgoing co-location requests.
When building, adding to, modifying, or even upgrading a commercial antenna system, and most especially if planning to erect a new tower, then zoning laws may apply. NetQ enables you to easily manage and track regulations, permitting, and even lease negotiations associated with the desired site. All the attachments, photos, multimedia, and drawings can be either stored in the database or referenced by hyperlinks, and searched using keywords.
Workflow: Activity Management & E-Messaging Fully Integrated with Outlook
An activity is created by, or for, the user, or it may be automatically generated by the system based on an event such as creation of a service request or trouble ticket. If users wish to use Microsoft Outlook to manage their contacts, appointments, and tasks, they can synchronize this information with the NetQ activity module.
One of the most powerful features of NetQ is the event-driven E-messaging and notification, providing users with the most up-to-date information and ensuring their prompt action. The E-messaging (email/SMS) concept implemented by NetQ reduces conventional forms of information exchange among users and streamlines the decision-making process markedly. Workflow notification messages are automatically sent to different users and functional groups based on events such as completion of a milestone. NetQ records can also be sent as attachment and be invoked by the recipient to action on them.
NetQ Map
NetQ Map is an integral part of the solution which, like the rest of NetQ, runs in a browser environment. The GIS engine of NetQ is powered by the embedded engines from MapInfo® MapXtreme .NET and Google Earth (for 3D visualization). It is a combination of elements designed to store, retrieve, manipulate, and display geographic data. The GIS interface used in NetQ allows the user to quickly and easily view the network as a whole or in part before, during, and after its construction. NetQ allows the user to open an existing record or add new ones simply by a single mouse activation anywhere on the map. The quick and easy-to-use search tools in NetQ allow the user to easily plot network related data points and coverage, and then generate thematic map layers and reports for further analysis.
